Zawsze mam wrażenie, że Berlin, to takie miasto-państwo na terenie Niemiec. Tak jak Watykan czy San Marino na terenie Włoch. Niemcy są dość zachowawczym narodem (przynajmniej na pierwszy rzut oka :)) i raczej preferują porządek, stonowane kolory, ciszę. Berlin jest jednak zupełnie inny - kolorowy, głośny. To taka trochę enklawa artystów.

Stolica Niemiec to raj dla rowerzystów. Na dwóch kółkach da się dojechać praktycznie wszędzie - ścieżki rowerowe są bardzo dobrze wyznaczone. Berlin jest położony na dość płaskim terenie, a kierowcy (nawet taksówkarze) są bardzo mili dla miłośników dwóch kółek. Rower bez problemu można wypożyczyć w wielu miejscach.

Tiergarten to idealne miejsce na odpoczynek. Znajduje się w centrum i zajmuje obszar około 200 hektarów.

Miś jest symbolem Berlina. Jakiś czas temu stworzono w stolicy Niemiec wystawę United Buddy Bears. Zaangażowali się w nią artyści z całego świata i tak powstały kolorowe, ponad 2-metrowe misie, które miały symbolizować różne kraje. Obecnie misie jeżdżą po całym świecie, ale w Berlinie nadal można natknąć się na pamiątki, ozdoby, a także duże misie w stylu United Buddy Bears, które porozstawiane są po mieście.

Berlińczycy, podobnie jak przedstawiciele innych miast, np. Wiednia, czy też Poznania, postanowili wprowadzić troszkę klimatu "nadmorskiego" w centrum miasta. Nad rzeką znajduje się parę miejsc, gdzie można usiąść na leżaczku i wypić drinka. Oczywiście ta opcja dostępna jest jedynie w wakacje.

W Berlinie urodził się bardzo znany i utalentowany fotograf mody Helmut Newton. Warto wybrać się do Muzeum poświęconego temu artyście - prezentowane są tam jego fotografie, także najbardziej znane akty gwiazd.

Chociaż nie jestem wielką fanką niemieckiej kuchni, nie mogę przejść obojętnie obok budek z kiełbaskami, które stanowią idealną przekąskę podczas zwiedzania. Szybko, tanio i smacznie :) Z Niemiec przywożę zawsze kilka paczek Haribo - jest ich tam ogromny wybór - twórca klasycznych miśków był przecież Niemcem :)

I'm always under impression that Berlin is the city-country in Germany like Vatican or San Marino in Italy.
Germans are quite conservative and modest (at least on first sight :)) and they prefere order, simple colors, silence. Berlin is totally different - loud, colorfull. It's a perfect place for all artists.

The capital of Germany is perfect for bikers. You can get everywhere you want by bike - bicycle paths are really well done. Berlin is placed on a flat neighbourhood and the drivers are really nice for the bikers (even the taxi drivers ;)) You can rent a bike in many places.

Tiergarten is a perfect place to rest. It's in the middle of Berlin and it quite big - it has around 200 hectares.

A Bear is a symbol of Berlin. A few years back there was an exhibition United Buddy Bears. Artists from all over the world were preparing 2-meter high bears - every bear was representing another country. Now they are travelling around the world but you can still see bear souvenirs, decorations and big sculptures (looking like United Buddy Bears) that are placed all over Berlin.

Berliners, like other cities representants (for example Vienna or Poznań habitants) decided to give their city a little "seaside" spirit. In the city center, by the river you can find sunbeds that you can chill on drinking beer or another drinks. Of course this option is only available during summer.

Helmut Newton - fashion photography genious was born in Berlin. There's a museum dedicated to him in Berlin and it's really worth going. They have a lot of photos, also the well known nudes of stars.

Even though I'm not a big fan of German cuisine, I really like the sausages stands - they are a perfect snack while visiting the city - cheap, fast, delicious :) When in Germany I always bring a few packs of Haribo - they have a really big choice of them - after all, the creator of the classic Haribo Bears was German!
