Food in Canada part 3

One of the dishes I really like in Canada is Shepard's pie, aka Cottage pie or Pâté chinois. There's a lot of stories about who invented the dish, and one of the most famous is that it was Chinese people building the railways across the country.

One thing is certain - it was a poor people's dish. And, as most delicious-poor-people's dishes (like pizza, pasta or sushi), it changed its status and became all-the-people's-dish.

The dish is made of minced meat, corn and mashed potatoes - super simple! You can add some fancy ingredients to this dish or change corn for peas or other veggie, but the original version is the most popular (and the best :)).
